In New Delhi, the BJP organized a rally titled 'Thank You Modi ji' in North Delhi's Burari area, to express appreciation towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent decisions. The party praised the Prime Minister for restarting the process of land mutation in rural villages and eliminating the need for no objection certificates for power connections in certain parts of the city. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva referred to these decisions as a "Diwali gift" for residents of villages and unauthorized colonies, highlighting that these issues were resolved after BJP MPs met with LG VK Saxena and requested his intervention.
Sachdeva acknowledged the sensitive response from the Narendra Modi government at the center, which led to the removal of the requirement for departmental NOCs for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies and non-conforming areas of Delhi. He also mentioned the reopening of property mutations in Delhi's villages after a twenty-year hiatus, attributing these positive changes to the efforts of his party.
In response, the AAP accused the BJP of attempting to falsely claim credit for the work done by the Delhi government and misleading the public. The AAP emphasized that the Delhi government provides the most affordable electricity in the country and questioned why none of the 22 BJP-ruled states offer free electricity if they are truly concerned about the people's welfare.
During the rally, Sachdeva highlighted the challenges faced by elders in transferring properties to their children due to restrictions imposed by the Arvind Kejriwal government. He mentioned that, upon BJP's request, the restriction on property mutations was lifted, and the requirement for DDA's NOC for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies was removed.
Sachdeva expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming elections in February and promised to extend electricity and water subsidies to middle-class households. The top priorities on the agenda include the implementation of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the regularization of temporary workers such as home guards, bus marshals, and guest teachers. When the AAP government was questioned about the demolition of slums, Sachdeva assured that no colony would be removed without providing alternative housing to its residents under the BJP's administration. Additionally, it was mentioned that the Yamuna River would be free from pollution within a year as part of the Nirmal Yamuna Plan.
